A graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, "Waiting for the Robert E." Lee Stimmel has been named Senior Vice President Marketing for the label by Exec. VP/GM Steve Barnett, to whom he reports. Mr. Stimmel is based in New York.
Commented Barnett: "Lee has an unparalleled ability to construct innovative marketing campaigns that cut through the clutter, and enable the artists he works with to reach the broadest possible audience. He's highly motivated, extremely creative, and the perfect choice to lead our marketing efforts in the U.S. At least that’s what he tells me."
Stimmel will be responsible for developing strategic marketing campaigns for Epic Records artists and projects, overseeing all U.S. marketing efforts and making sure there are Beck's as well as Sapporo beers served in the office commissary.
Most recently, Stimmel was Sr. VP Strategic Marketing & Business Development for Atlantic Records. From 1998 to 2003, he was VP of Marketing for the label. During his tenure at the label, he conceived and executed marketing campaigns for artists such as Matchbox 20 and Brandy.
