WEEK IN PREVIEW:
ASHLEE STILL GROWING

It’s like this: She’s young, so she’s still growing. Same for Ashlee Simpson’s debut album, Autobiography (Geffen), which looks at this point like it might break 300k for the sales week ended Sunday.

The reports are still being tallied, of course, and nothing’s ever certain until all the numbers have been crunched, but that’s what appears to be happening as of this morning.

That gives the younger Simpson an easy #1 for her fourth chart week—and a total of three weeks in the top slot.

Simpson will be followed by Now That’s What I Call Music 16 (UTV), which appears to be holding relatively steady at around 240k, which will put it at #2 on the chart.

This week’s top chart debut will come from incarcerated rapper Shyne, whose Godfather Buried Alive (Gangland/IDJ) should log between 160k-170k for its first week.

Shyne will be followed by the week’s other top debuts, which include Mobb Deep’s Amerikaz Nightmare (Jive/ZLG), on track to do about 130k-140k; former Creed rockers Alter Bridge (Wind-up), which should do around 120k and rappers Houston (Capitol) and Mystikal (Jive/ZLG), each of whom should see first-week totals of about 40k.
