SCOOBY-DOO 2 IS TOP DOG AT BOX OFFICE

Ben and J. Lo Reunited in Jersey Girl
Who cares what the reviewers think when the kids want to see a computer-animated dog? Scooby-Doo 2: Electric Boogaloo, er, Monsters Unleashed brought in $30.7 million over the weekend to be the big dog at the box office, despite harsh words from the critics.

Also debuting well, though in a smaller number of theatres was The Coen brothers’ The Ladykillers, starring a weird-haired Tom Hanks, debuted in second place with $13 million. Behind The Ladykillers was the reunited Ben Affleck and J. Lo in Kevin Smith’s Jersey Girl, which debuted in fifth with $8.3 million. Further back was DMX’s Never Die Alone which did $3.1 million ranked at #11.
