The Southland at the Roxy.

Christopher Guest at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This tribute to the king of mockumentaries will feature such movies as This is Spinal Tap, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind. Guest will be on hand for a Q&A afterward.

Garifuna Street Festival: If you’ve been to Belize, you’ve experienced Garifuna, a fusion of African and Caribbean cultures that has produced distinctive music, dance and cuisine. This great festival brings the islands home to LA every April, with a three-block-long blowout of live music, Punta rock, dancing, drumming and out-of-this-world food. (Avalon Blvd. and E. 43rd St.)

Los Angeles International Antiques, Fine Art and Jewelry Show: As the title suggests, the show offers top of the line items ranging from antique furniture to traditional paintings and estate jewelry. This show will feature booths with galleries ranging from Hong Kong and Moscow to West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. @ the Convention Center.

Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs: The Clips return home from their final road trip of the year to battle the Spurs. There are only two more homes games after this one and you wont want to miss this exciting team finish out their season. Yes, I know, they won’t be making the playoffs, but the future is very bright and a big reason for that is rookie phenom Shaun Livingston. Although injured most of the year, he’s been back for a while now and turning heads every game he plays.

Sin City!!! I wrote about this movie last week, and it lived up to every expectation. I was so blown away that I went to see again the next day. If you have yet to see it, you ‘re missing out on of the coolest movies of the year and maybe one of the coolest movies in a long time.

4:20 p.m.
Start your two-month countdown to Showtime’s surefire hit Weeds: Mary Louise Parker plays a suburban housewife who becomes the neighborhood pot dealer after a divorce. We’re looking forward to June.

5:30 p.m.

Meet the Grunion: It’s spring, so you should be knocking someone up, and if you’re not, why don’t you get all voyeur on someone else’s spawning. Catch hundreds of grunion wash ashore, dig a nest, deposit a clutch of eggs in the sand and then catch the next wave back to the sea, leaving the eggs to incubate. The aquarium opens at 8 p.m., orientation begins at 9 p.m. Then, find a spot on the beach and wait for the waves to deposit the silver masses at your feet. @ The Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (3720 Stephen White Dr., San Pedro, 310-548-7562).

JE-C’S NEW MOVIE RUNDOWN
Sahara
Starring: Matthew McConaughey, Steve Zahn, Penélope Cruz, Lambert Wilson, Glynn Turman, Delroy Lindo and William H. Macy
Synopsis: Explorer Dirk Pitt and his slacker sidekick embark on a treasure hunt through West Africa in search of what locals call the Ship of Death, a lost Civil War battleship that may house a very valuable cargo. Doctor Eva Rojas warns them that the ship may be linked to mysterious deaths in the area.
Thoughts: This movie to me looks like another version of National Treasure. Although I liked that film, I’m skeptical about this one. It has a pretty good cast and the trailers look good, but something tells me it could turn out to be stupid.

Fever Pitch
Starring: Jimmy Fallon, Drew Barrymore, Lenny Clarke, Jack Kehler and James B. Sikking
Synopsis: A successful young woman falls for a man she thinks is the perfect guy. The only catch? He's a little bit obsessed with the Boston Red Sox.
Thoughts: I love the Farrelly Brothers, so I’m very interested in this movie. It will also be interesting to see it after the Red Sox actually did win the World Series. The Farrellys are always very funny and clever, and although sometimes they can offensive, their messages are always positive.

Kung Fu Hustle
Starring: Stephen Chow, Yuen Wah, Yuen Qiu, Leung Siu-lung and Dong Zhihua
Synopsis: Sing is an aspiring gangster who wishes he were part of the Axe Gang, but he lacks the necessary martial arts chops. He gets a chance to prove himself when he encounters the Beast, an adversary the likes of which no one has ever seen.
Thoughts: The trailer to this movie is very interesting. It looks like it could be one of those sleeper hits. With cool special effects, martial arts and from the looks of it, a sense of humor about it all.
