DAVE DARUS NAMED PRESIDENT OF KIRTLAND RECORDS

Label Vet Set to Break Acts on RED-Distribbed Label
Dave Darus has been named President of Kirtland Records, it was announced today by label CEO John Kirtland. Darus will work out of newly opened offices in Los Angeles, where he will manage Kirtland’s roster, which includes The Burden Brothers and The Vanished, as well as the company’s catalog, which includes all four Platinum-selling Bush titles.

Said Kirtland of the appointment, “I am very excited about working with Darus. His knowledge and experience will be instrumental in bringing Kirtland Records to the next level, developing our roster and working catalog acquisitions.”

Added Darus, “I’ve known John for a long time and I’m very excited to represent his entertainment group. We will be putting together an artist-friendly environment resembling the 360-degree business models that are currently working well for a handful of innovative labels. I'm also looking forward to be working with the fresh independent thinkers at RED Distribution and RED Ink.”

Singles from both the Burden Brothers (“Shadow”) and The Vanished (“Favorite Scar”) are currently at radio and are researching well, according to the company, with Top 5 callout in some Top 10 markets. “We’re looking forward to spreading that success at the Rock formats,” Darus says.

“I’m eager to break acts in today’s changing environment in the record industry, and am pleased to be a part of it with Kirtland Records,” he added.
