ROB LIGHT, MITCH ROSE SET CAA GOLF TOURNAMENT

For Once, When They Talk About “Handicaps,” They Aren’t Talking About Us
The 14th annual CAA Commissioners Cup Invitational golf tournament, long known to be the premiere industry golf event, will take place at La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, California, on Thursday, April 28 through Saturday, April 30.

Brought to you by CAA's Rob Light and Mitch Rose, the tournament, as usual, will feature 54 holes of golf (18 per day), trophies for first through fifth place, plus low gross and “Most Improved,” and a family “Champions Luncheon” at the end of play Saturday afternoon.

The tournament fee is $675 and the deadline for entry is tomorrow (3/24), so get off the stick and call somebody who knows somebody to get yourself in. In addition to 54 holes of golf, the fee gets you swag, range privileges, trophies (if you win), dinner on Thursday, breakfast on Friday and lunch on Friday and Saturday. What a deal.

Tournament play will take place on Thursday afternoon, Friday Morning and Saturday Morning. Regulations call for a maximum handicap of 18.

And speaking of handicaps, tournament organizers want you to know that they'll be happy to help. They suggest either providing your home club phone number and current index (not handicap index), from which they will calculate your correct handicap for La Costa, or, alternatively, forwarding your last 20 scorecards and letting organizers do the calculating. However, those who have 20 scorecards and aren’t a member of a club will automatically be considered cheating bastards.

This year's tournament is dedicated to "Fun, Friendship and Camaraderie."
