CLEAR CHANNEL, VENTURA DISTRIBUTION TO RELEASE
MÖTLEY CRÜE DVD

CC Nabs Worldwide Media Rights to Reunion Tour; Ventura to Release in U.S.
Clear Channel Entertainment Television has acquired worldwide media rights to Mötley Crüe’s ongoing “Red White & Crüe: Better Live Than Dead" reunion tour. As part of that deal, CCETV will produce a live-concert DVD at an upcoming show, to be released in the U.S. by Ventura Distribution. The announcement was made today by CCETV President Joe Townley and Ventura Distribution President/GM Jim Weatherson.

CCETV is a division of Clear Channel Entertainment, which, coincidentally, parent company Clear Channel today said will soon be spun off into a separately traded company.

International distribution is still pending, but the Ventura-distributed DVD will be shot in Hi-Definition at an upcoming Crüe show in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, who has filmed concerts for the likes of U2, Madonna and Peter Gabriel. The footage will also be used for a television special.

The ongoing Crüe tour has been selling out arenas throughout the U.S. and is now in the middle of a successful European jaunt. The show, which features a psycho-circus stage setting complete with scantily clad female acrobats and fire-breathing dwarves, has been a hit with fans and critics alike.
