"McG designs these soundtracks as the ultimate party tapes. And Pink is the quintessential Charlie’s Angels act."

COLUMBIA FULL-THROTTLE
ON CHARLIE'S ANGELS 2

Soundtrack to Action-Packed Sequel
Packing Action of Its Own
It’s “Feel Good Time” for Columbia/Sony Music Soundtrax as they ready the June 24 release for the Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (Music from the Motion Picture) album. The movie, once again directed by music video and commercial whiz McG, opens nationwide three days later.

The first single from the soundtrack, “Feel Good Time”—a collaboration between Pink and Madonna technomeister William Orbit (who co-wrote it with Beck Hanson and Jay Ferguson)—is already cracking the Top 20 at Pop radio, where it’s kicking more butt than Drew, Cameron and Lucy combined.

The album also features a newly recorded cover of Elton John’s “Saturday Night’s Alright (for Fighting)” by Nickelback featuring Kid Rock, a new song by Nas with Pharrell and David Bowie redoing “Rebel Rebel.”

Sony Music Soundtrax President Glen Brunman, one of four executive producers of the soundtrack, along with McG, Columbia Pictures Worldwide Music President Lia Vollack and music supervisor John Houlihan, wiped the popcorn butter off his hands and exulted: “We are so fortunate to have Pink headlining this record. And, once again, McG made sure the music is an important part of the film. Contractually, that’s all I’m allowed to say, though.”

Also on the album are such period hits as Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ on a Prayer,” Journey’s “Any Way You Want It,” The Beach Boys’ “Surfer Girl,” Loverboy’s “Working for the Weekend,” Edwyn Collins’ “A Girl Like You,” Andy Gibb’s “I Just Wanna Be Your Everything,” MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” (the film’s big dance number) and Donna Summer’s “Last Dance.”

Vollack, who helmed the first Charlie’s Angels ST, which came out in 2000 and sold 3 million worldwide, thanks to Destiny’s Child’s Grammy-nominated “Independent Women: Part 1,” was ready to karate-chop any naysayers: “McG designs these soundtracks as the ultimate party tapes. And Pink is the quintessential Charlie’s Angels act. A female who appeals to women, but doesn’t take any shit...which is what the movie—and I—stand for.”
