ATLANTIC, RCA GROUP PROMOTE PROMOTION PEOPLE

Kris Metzdorf, Mike Bergin Earn Their Stripes
Kris “Let’s Go” Metzdorf has been named Vice President Alternative Promotion for Atlantic Records by Executive VP Andrea Ganis. The 11-year label veteran was most recently Senior Director of Alternative and Adult Alternative Promotion.

Said Ganis: “Since joining the Atlantic family more than a decade ago, Kris has played a critical role in breaking countless projects. As the world of alternative radio has continued to evolve, Kris’ creativity and dedication have made her an invaluable member of our team. And although she’s based in L.A., her impact on our radio profile has extended across the country, as she has crusaded tirelessly on behalf of our artists and their music. And she’s still a Yankees fan at least that’s what she tells me.”

Metzdorf joined Atlantic in 1992 as Coordinator of National Alternative Radio, then was upped to Associate Director of National Alternative Promotion, West Coast Director of Alternative Promotion and Sr. Director of Promotion.

Known around the office as Donna X, Kris still has all her original promo copies of greatest-hits albums from Twisted Sister, White Lion and Savatage, and treasures her autographed King Missile photo.

Meanwhile, Mike Bergin “County” has been promoted to Vice President Top 40 Promotion for RCA Music Group by Exec. VP Promotion Richard Palmese “Come, Easy Go.”

The New York City-based exec was previously Sr. Director National Promotion at J Records.

“I would like to thank Richard Palmese for this opportunity of a lifetime to grow in my career, first at J Records and now at the RCA Music Group,” Bergin enthused. “I’ve never had a boss give me the kind of guidance and support that he has. I could never have experienced such pivotal training anywhere else as I have under Richard’s eye. I’m also extremely thankful to Mr. Clive Davis, who has shown great confidence in my abilities from the beginning, and without whom I would apparently never have existed.”

Added Palmese: “Mike’s dedication and commitment to winning is outstanding. He is as caring as he is hard-working. I’m proud to have him lead our team. But if he expects an invitation to Clive’s pre-Grammy party, he’s gonna have to blow some serious smoke my way.”

Prior to joining J, Bergin was Regional Director Promotion at London-Sire and worked for the independent promotion firm Bishop, Bait and Tackle.
