Vampires vs. Werewolves
Always Good For Tickets
It could be the kick-ass soundtrack, it could be
Kate Beckinsale kicking werewolf ass, but
Underworld debuted as the #1 movie of the week, taking in $22 million.
Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles’ sequel to The Boat, The Fighting Temptations was second, with $13.2 million. Okay, it’s not the sequel to The Boat, but it was second and Beyonce is in it. The week’s other bows were Secondhand Lions, staring Robert Duvall, Michael Caine and Haley Joel Osment, in third with $12.9 million, and Dennis Quaid and Sharon Stone’s Cold Creek Manor in fifth with $8.3 million.
Here’s the rest of the Top 10: #4
Once Upon a Time in Mexico ($11.5m); #6
Matchstick Men ($7.8m); #7
Cabin Fever ($3.9m); #8
Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star ($3.8m); #9
Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl ($3.5m); #10
