DreamWorks Records is ready for some Postelle service.
Former Famous Music Publishing Urban Music VP Brian Postelle "It on the Mountain" has joined the executive A&R staff of the label, according to principal executive Michael Ostin "City Limits."
Postelle signed Eminem, Redman and producer Irv Gotti during his tenure at Famous Music, which began in 1996. He was named individual Publisher of the Year at the Impact Awards in 2001.
Commenting on the appointment, Ostin said: "We’re very excited to welcome Brian to DreamWorks. His proven ability to discover and sign talent will greatly enhance our A&R efforts. He had quite an impressive run at Famous, but we believe he’ll exceed even those accomplishments at DreamWorks. In fact, he’s already working on a follow-up for Darryl Worley’s ‘Have You Forgotten?’ called ‘Who’s Your Bagh-Daddy?’’
Said Postelle: "I’m honored that Michael and Mo Ostin have invited me to join the DreamWorks A&R team. The label’s emphasis on artist development reflects my own commitment to making sure the acts I sign reach their full creative and commercial potential. And I’ve always wanted to work with Steve Ross. Whaddaya mean he’s dead?"
