WEEK IN PREVIEW:
THREE TO TANGO!

Norah, Avril, 8 Mile Wrangle for
Top Chart Honors Again
As the usual January doldrums wash over the industry, the top of the Top 50 Albums chart will be left temporarily to those albums carrying the strongest momentum out of the holidays. And as last week’s chart already showed, the strongest three are Norah JonesCome Away with Me (Blue Note), Avril Lavigne’s Let Go (Arista) and the 8 Mile soundtrack (Shady/Aftermath/Interscope). Those three albums are likely to own the top of the chart again this week.

At radio, it will be another catch-as-catch-can week at Top
40. Look for Craig David’s “Hidden Agenda” (Wildstar/
Atlantic), Eminem’s “Superman” (Shady/Aftermath/Inter-
scope), Amanda Perez’s “Angel” (Powerhowse/Virgin),
Ja Rule’s “Mesmerize” (Murder Inc./IDJ) and Bon Jovi’s
“Misunderstood” (Island/IDJ) to continue to lead.

At Crossover, meanwhile, keep an eye on The Roots
“Break You Off” (MCA) and Sarai’s “Pack Your Bags”
(Epic) for add action, as cleanup on Eminem’s “Super-
man” and 50 Cent’s “Wanksta” and “In Da Club” (Shady/
Aftermath/Interscope) continues.

And at Post Modern, look out for the Foo Fighters, whose “Times Like These” (Roswel/RCA) is expected to claim Most Added honors. Also making moves will be Good Charlotte’s “The Anthem” (Daylight/Epic) and Audioslave’s “Like a Stone” (Epic/Interscope), which should see early action this week.

There it is, in a nutshell. And we know from nuts.
