Bad Boys II, starring a reunited Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, opened with a bang, scoring about $46.7 million and becoming the top-grossing film for the weekend.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer can also claim #2, Pirates of the Caribbean, which seized about $33.3 million in its second week.

According to AP, the big combined returns from Bruckheimer’s one-two wollop helped boost weekend totals some 34% over the same weekend last year. The top 12 flicks combined logged a healthy $137.7 million.

Coming in third was Sean Connery vehicle The Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen with $10.1 million. Bean-meets-Clouseau spoof Johnny English made its bow at #4 with an estimated take of $9.3 million. Ahnold’s Terminator 3 snagged another $9.2 million, good for #5.

The bottom half of the Top 10 includes #6 Finding Nemo ($7.3m), #7 Legally Blonde 2 ($6.1m), #8 How to Deal ($5.8m), #9 Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle ($3.7m) and #10 28 Days Later ($2.6m).
