SONY MUSIC PACTS WITH CENTERSPAN FOR DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION

Sony Music Entertainment has pacted with CenterSpan Communications Corp. to make recordings available from its catalog of world-famous music performances for CenterSpan to digitally distribute via its secure C-Star CDN Services 2.0 content delivery network to various C-Star service provider customers and their subscribers in North America.

This non-exclusive agreement marks the first time Sony Music Entertainment has made its artists' music available to a digital distributor for use on a secure peer-to-peer delivery network. Now don’t start getting all misty on us.

The agreement lets CenterSpan provide music from Sony Music Entertainment artists to a wide variety of online service providers by offering their subscribers streaming and downloadable music. Using C-Star, service providers will have the flexibility to cost effectively scale their offerings to fit a variety of business models, including pay-per-use, downloadable or streaming content.

C-Star CDN Services 2.0 is a suite of modular content delivery solutions for delivering digital audio, video and data files.
