Vollack has overseen the soundtracks for such motion picture successes Charlie's Angels and Spider-Man. She is being honored tonight in Santa Monica with the City of Hope’s Spirit of Life award, alongside peers like WB’s Gary LeMel, Universal/UMG’s Kathy Nelson, Fox’s Robert Kraft, Disney’s Chris Montan and Paramount’s Burt Berman.

Vollack will be responsible for overseeing the music for all Columbia Pictures releases, including films produced by Revolution Studios, Screen Gems and Sony Pictures Animation. She and her staff also will continue to provide music consulting services and assistance to Sony Pictures Classics and local-language productions throughout the world.

Said Pascal: "Lia is peerless. She is beloved by our filmmakers and everyone at the studio. She has barely scratched the surface of her overall contributions to the company. I hope she makes her home here forever. I just wish she wouldn’t sleep on my office sofa."

The multi-platinum Charlie's Angels soundtrack featured the Destiny's Child Grammy-nominated single "Independent Women: Part 1." During the summer, the platinum-selling soundtrack for Spider-Man boasted the #1 single "Hero" by Chad Kroeger and Josey Scott. Vollack also has recently overseen soundtracks for Stuart Little 2, Men in Black II and Mr. Deeds.

Vollack's upcoming projects include the music for Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, due for release in the summer, and The Amazing Spider-Man, which debuts May 7, 2004. She also is at work on soundtracks for two other summer movies, S.W.A.T. and Bad Boys 2, as well as Revolution's Maid in Manhattan, with Jennifer Lopez, which opens nationwide Dec. 13.

Vollack joined Columbia in 1997 as a VP Worldwide Music, was promoted to Sr. VP in 1999 and Executive VP in 2000. She began her career as Broadway’s first female theatrical sound designer on more than 150 shows.
