OASIS BACK ATOP U.K. CHART

Britpop Band #1 in England Again
Oasis has made a triumphant return to the top of the charts this week, knocking teen sensation Gareth Gates from his throne with their new single "Hindu Times."

The Gallagher brothers' first single in nearly two years trounced the newcomer as sales of his "Unchained Melody" were already seen waning after four weeks in the top slot.

Oasis found chart success in the 1990s, but the Gallagher brothers soon became more famous for their failed celebrity marriages, drinking binges and well-publicized arguments with each other.

Oasis will perform this summer in front of 120,000 people at Finsbury Park in north London on July 5 and 6. Their new album "Heathen Chemistry" is expected to be released in the same month.

The Doves with "There Goes the Fear," and NSYNC also moved past Gates on the weekly chart.
