RCA FOSTERS CHANGE

BMG Exec. VP Ops. Neil Foster Named to Similar Gig at RCA by Jamieson
Neil Foster "Freeze" has answered the call of His Master’s Voice, as he’s named Executive Vice President for the RCA Music Group by Chairman Bob Jamieson, to whom he’ll report.

In this new role, Foster will work closely with Jamieson in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the RCA Music Group and its components, RCA Label Group—Nashville, RCA Victor Group, BMG Heritage, BMG Special Products and BMG Canada, all of which are under Jamieson’s aegis.

Foster was most recently Executive VP Operations for BMG N.A., overseeing Finance, Legal and Business Affairs, Human Resources, IS&T and Production in BMG’s North American Regional Office. Before that, he was GM/Operations for RCA Records, where he held executive positions in finance and operations since joining the record label in 1995, where his responsibilities included figuring the daily exchange rate of loonies into American dollars. The holder of an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, Foster previously worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company, where he was an expert in cutting down copy machine usage up to 67%.

Said Jamieson: "This appointment continues a long-standing partnership that Neil and I have had, first at RCA Records and most recently at BMG N.A. I am pleased to have him join me again and am confident he will be a driving force in the development of the RCA Music Group. Maybe he can even teach Nipper how to bark in French-Canadian."
