WEEK IN PREVIEW:
BUSTED BREAKS,VINES GROW

Wall Street may be sucking eggs right now, but the Dave Matthews Band’s stock is soaring, as their new-old album Busted Stuff (RCA) makes for #1 on this week’s chart and looks right on target for as much as 600k sold after a strong weekend.

Yes, even as the Dow Jones Industrials hemorrhage points and reinforce the doomsday Enron-Worldcom abused feeling of investors everywhere, DMB is keeping its promise to a weary industry, besting #1 Nelly, who has enjoyed three weeks on top but will in all likelihood come in at #2 this week.

Also primed for chart action is Capitol debut artist The Vines, whose Highly Evolved looks like it will log a very respectable 50k, which will be good for a Top 20 position, if not Top 15.

Meanwhile, in the wild world of radio, those tracking the behavior of the Top 40 beast tell us that No Doubt’s "Underneath It All" (Interscope) will score most-added honors this week, edging out strong first weeks from 3LW (featuring P.Diddy and Loon) and Paulina Rubio.

At Crossover, at the top of an otherwise quiet week, the wagering types are betting on Naughty by Nature’s "Swing Swang" to pull down the most adds, as clean-up continues on the above-mentioned 3LW, and Lil’ Flip (Columbia) gets started.

In the Post Modern and Rock worlds, meanwhile, Panic Room star Jared Leto’s 30 Seconds to Mars (Immortal/Virgin) will see its "Capricorn" vie with Lifehouse’s "Spin" (DreamWorks) for most added.
