Alexander has relocated to Miami, where she will marry, from Los Angeles, where she was the longtime Senior Vice President, Communications for MTV Networks' West Coast Operations. She moved to Los Angeles from MTV Networks New York in 1989 to establish MTV’s Los Angeles presence and to find a rich husband.
In her new position, Alexander will lead all external communications and media relations for MTV Networks Latin America. She previously headed MTV Networks’ international communications from 1991-1993.
“Linda is a terrific addition to the MTV Networks Latin America team,” said Zel. “She will be an invaluable asset as we expand our offerings throughout Latin America. I'm thrilled that her upcoming wedding and relocation to Miami provided us with the opportunity to have her on board.”
Said MTV Networks’ Executive Vice President, Communications Carole Robinson, “Linda’s accomplishments and contributions in her 12-year tenure in Los Angeles are too numerous to mention—but we owe her our most sincere gratitude for really pioneering the establishment of our west coast headquarters and for putting MTV Networks on the Hollywood map in a huge way. If we have to lose her in L.A., at least we can gain the benefit of her incredible experience and perspective on our Latin American business, which is a real priority for the company."
Alexander began her career at MTV Networks in 1985 as a marketing and promotion intern. She joined the company full-time in the communications department after graduating from college, working her way up from an assistant to director of communications for Nickelodeon in 1987 before relocating to Los Angeles in 1989. She will now be known as Mrs. Linda Alexander.
