And we can all rest easy with the knowledge that Clarence Clemons once again knows where his next meal’s coming from.
According to early reports from national accounts, The Rising (Columbia) could very well sell over 400k this week, making it as likely to unsaddle Toby Keith from his #1 chart mount as it is that a body will wash up on the Jersey shore sometime this morning. In other words, count on it.
And while in recent days it has been all about Today Show appearances and other neatly deployed media events surrounding the return of blue-collar rock’s king, there are other albums out there making a splash:
Linkin Park’s remix album, Reanimation (Warner Bros.), looks like it will hit 250k, and may sell more than that.
Brit-rockers Def Leppard are back, and their Island debut, X, could move as many as 100k this week.
Columbia’s Amerie, meanwhile, should see her debut collection, All I Have, sell upwards of an impressive 70k.
And agro-industrial mainstays Filter are back with The Amalgamut (Warner Bros.), which should sell more than 40k for the week.
You may now return to listening to Mr. Scialfa’s new work. Thank you.
