Creative Artists Agency has named Rob Light, head of the agency's music department, to its management board.
The appointment marks the first time a music agent has been tapped for the prestigious slot alongside President Richard Lovett, Lee Gabler, Kevin Huvane, Bryan Lourd, David O'Connor and Rick Nicita. Light now gets to order take-out Chinese with the rest—and is guaranteed at least one spring roll.
Light, who joined CAA in 1984, was named head of the music department in 1998, which represents such clients as Christina Aguilera, Barbra Streisand, Shania Twain, Faith Hill, Jon Bon Jovi, Destiny's Child, John Mellencamp, Bob Dylan, Ozzy Osbourne, Radiohead, Blink 182, Santana, Eric Clapton and Alanis Morissette. His team has helped launch many of the most successful music festivals of the last decade, including Ozzfest and Vans' Warped Tour. He can also get you concert tickets without having to pay a service charge.
Said CAA President Lovett: "This appointment to the board is as much a reflection of the music department's incredibly important role within CAA as it is an indication of Rob's long-term commitment to managing and growing the entire agency with heart, ingenuity and integrity… And securing me a spot in the mosh pit for the next Ozzfest."
