VH1 GETS ITS FILS

Reggie Fils-Aime: No, That's Not A Sentence, It's His Name
In our continuing previews of tomorrow’s Billboard Bulletin series, here’s a nice little announcement story:

Reggie Fils-Aime has been named Sr. Marketing VP at VH1. Fils-Aime will be responsible for all aspects of VH1 marketing, including consumer and trade advertising, ad sales and event marketing and promotion, as well as hyphen placement.

Before coming to music channel, Aime’s was most recently the Chief Marketing Officer for international bicycle manufacturer Derby Cycle Corporation. Before that, had an illustrious corporate marketing career with beer maker Guinness Import and Chinese restaurant chain Panda Management Company. Bikes, booze and fried rice what else is there? But Fils-Aime has traded it all in for "Behind The Music" promo items and the task of hyping VH1’s new reality-based shows, animated comedy series, documentaries and original full-length films—thanks to the channel’s recent programming revamping.

"Throughout his career, Reggie’s demonstrated the kind of strategic and creative thinking that’s led to revenue and profit growth under extremely competitive conditions," said VH1/CMT President John Sykes, who announced Aime’s new position. "His approach to marketing is aggressive and results-driven, exactly what will help take the VH1 brand to the next level. Plus, he’s very helpful at suggesting what to get when we order Chinese. "
