"We are thrilled to have someone with David's experience, knowledge and passion play such a key role on our team. He has a proven track record in working with and developing the careers of our artists, and we will look for even bigger things from him in the months to come."
——Charles Foster, Universal Sr. VP Pop Promotion

NATHAN POPS AT UNIVERSAL

Now Insists on Being Referred to as "His VP-ness"
David Nathan "Hot Dog" has been upped to Vice President Pop Promotion for Universal Records by the label's Sr. VP Pop Promotion Charles Foster "Freeze."

In this expanded role, Nathan will develop and implement promotional strategies at the format for artists such as 3 Doors Down, Elton John, 98 Degrees and Brian McKnight, while speed-dialing TRL and continuing to be the British Ambassador of Soul.

Said Foster: "We are thrilled to have someone with David's experience, knowledge and passion play such a key role on our team. He has a proven track record in working with and developing the careers of our artists, and we will look for even bigger things from him in the months to come. Plus, he already has an office, a business card and a parking space, so it costs us nothing in overhead."

Added Nathan: "Working alongside Charlie and the entire Universal team has been nothing short of amazing. I am thankful for Charlie's continued support and belief in me, and especially the support of [Universal President] Monte Lipman, who initially brought me into the company."

Nathan began his career in the promotion department of Columbia Records before moving to Island Records. Nathan was one of the first execs hired at Universal at its inception six years ago, coming in as New York Regional Promotion Manager. He can still sing all the words to "Tubthumping."
