INTERSCOPE WORKS DREAMWORKS

Label Will Take Over Promotion and Marketing For DreamWorks Urban Projects, Starting With Isleys
Interscope is ready to twist, shout and take over promotion and marketing for DreamWorks Records’ Urban projects, as first reported right here on hitsdailydouble.com. DreamWorks is already distributed by Interscope.

The first album to fall under the arrangement will be the Isley Brothers’ current Top 10 record, Eternal, which contains the hit single, "Contagious."

The move will reunite Interscope Black Music Promotion chief Step Johnson and DreamWorks Urban ruler John McClain, who first worked together at A&M Records and then at Interscope, where their successes included Dr. Dre, Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg and Blackstreet.

As part of the move, current DreamWorks Black Music Promotion and Marketing head Waymon Jones will exit the label at the end of September. The highly respected Urban music vet is reportedly already on the short list of two companies who have expressed interest in hiring him.
