Managed by Rob McDermott and Andy Gould, Linkin Park's "Hybrid Theory" album has been fueled by Active Rock and PoMo airplay on the first single, "One Step Closer," though much of that is in late-night dayparts.
Said one business insider: "The record is showing the same pattern of growth as Papa Roach, whose first-week sales forced increased radio airplay." That album is now up to 2.2 million in sales OTC.
Lenny Kravitz's "Greatest Hits" album has been preceded by the one new cut on the record, "Again," with first-day sales indicating the disc will go over 100k, while the "Charlie's Angels" soundtrack, featuring Destiny's Child's smash "Independent Women," should have it in the 50k range—not bad considering the movie doesn't even open until next week.
