AND FRANKIE VALLI IS SUING THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL

Avalon, star of the ‘60s film "Beach Blanket Bingo," charged that ads containing the campaign's "Frankly, Avalon" slogan and the use of a look-a-like who plugs the hotel has damaged his reputation and his market value. Avalon seeks at least $350,000 in damages. "Do we care?" Hotel reps asked. "What's Avalon's market value anyway?"

Because no day is complete without something written about Eminem. Sultry British pop star Dido wrapped up her U.S. tour on Monday (8/21) with a surprise shout-out to made-for-tabloid-news rapper Eminem. Dido thanked the rapper for sampling her song "Thankyou" in his song "Stan," and thus bringing it "to the attention of the masses." In her on-stage thanks, Dido called Eminem a "charming little fellow," marking the first time that phrase has ever been used in conjunction with the rapper's name. A spokesman for the rapper said Eminem was consider filing a defamation suit against Dido for her comments.

WELL, THEY HAD TO GET MARRIED, DIDN'T THEY?
Rapper Mack 10 made an honest woman out of TLC's T-Boz. The couple got married in a private ceremony on Saturday (8/19). Also at the service were T-Boz's fellow TLC'er Chilli and rapper-actor Ice Cube. R&B singer Gerald LeVert was in the minority of guests who actually went by their given names. The couple is expecting their first child in November. No word at presstime whether T-Boz would take Mack 10's name in the marriage, thus becoming T-10.
