VOODOO TOUR SLOWED BY INFECTION

D’Angelo Sidelined By Bronchitis, Cancels Dates
Perhaps bad juju shut the Voodoo tour down?

A recurrent bout of bronchitis has forced R&B singer D’Angelo to cancel nearly a week’s worth of shows.

First diagnosed with a severe throat infection on March 17, D’Angelo canceled his scheduled show that evening at Radio City Music Hall (a date he made up shortly thereafter). But the infection proved persistent, and after further evaluation by his doctors, more cancellations were ordered. The singer canceled his two-night stint in Washington, DC, on March 24-25, as well as subsequent shows in Boston, Cleveland and Toronto. Make-up dates will be announced. He is expected to return to the road in Chicago on March 31.

To combat the illness, D’Angelo’s doctors have suggested bed rest, antibiotics and that the singer "put on a shirt once in awhile."
