The MTVi Group has hooked up with Beatnik, Inc., in a deal that provides MTVi's MTV.com, VH1.com and SonicNet.com with interactive audio. "Together, Beatnik and MTVi are introducing music fans on MTVi's sites to immersive, interactive experiences that enable them to interact with top artists, create and remix music and be published in a Web-based community," enthused Beatnik President/CEO Lorraine Hariton, who is personally acquainted with Beatnik founder Thomas Dolby Robertson. Said MTVi President/CEO Nicholas Butterworth in a remarkably generic statement: "We are very excited to be partnering with Beatnik, a leader in interactive audio technologies. As the leading force in online music entertainment, MTVi continues to deliver the best interactive audio experience across our global network of Web sites."… E-tailer BestBuy.com has linked with Emusic's Rollingstone.com and DownBeatJazz.com for content, as BestBuy.com becomes the exclusive online music retailer for the two sites, as well as creating and managing a new co-branded version of the RollingStone.com online store… Sony Corp., Texas Instruments and the U.K.'s Symbian have put their heads together to develop Sony's next-gen wireless phones, for those who desire to access the Web, run software and, oh, yeah, make phone calls on tiny, tres-hip devices… The MusicMatch Jukebox has become the most used software jukebox.
