Beck will be bringing his stage show a hospital near you.
Beck Hansen, known for his outlandish stage histrionics, often throws himself into his performance, but recently he did so too literally. At a show at London’s huge
Wembley Stadium, Beck suffered the consequences, as he was injured by his bassist
Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
Reports that Beck’s robotic-like dancing caused the fray are unfounded.
While performing "Devil’s Haircut" at the first night of his three-date UK tour, Beck was struck in mid-air by Meldal-Johnsen's bass guitar.
Beck staggered toward the side of the stage clutching his abdomen. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, fearing that he had ruptured his internal organs. Following an examination, he was treated and released shortly after 3:30 a.m.
In a statement released to the press, Beck did admit, "It’s nobody’s fault but my own."
According to a spokesperson, Beck is not planning to cancel any additional performances.
