Web Site Is
Desperately Seeking Singles

MUSICBLITZ.com Uses SXSW Event
To Find "Unnoticed" Bands
Every year, bands from all across the United States and the world converge upon the South By Southwest Music Conference in Austin, TX, seeking record deals from labels big and small. At this year’s conference, MUSICBLITZ.com offered them something different.

At the Web site’s DealBLITZ event—a live performance before a panel of judges and an Internet audience—20 artists walked away with a singles recording deal, which includes financial compensation and the resources necessary for the artists to record and release this new music. Among the artists who will be featured on the MUSICBLITZ Web site in the coming months are Hamell on Trial, The London Street Project, 12 Oz Curl, Perpetual Hype Engine and Vegas DeMilo.

MUSICBLITZ funds established and up-and-coming artists to record new singles, which consumers can download for free, and then continues to promote the music, and the artists who create it, by licensing it for use in film, television, commercials, soundtracks and compilations. Best of all, the site promises not to put artists on after wrestling.

"Each year at SXSW there are so many great bands whose talents go completely unnoticed by the major and independent record labels," commented Mike Mena, MUSICBLITZ VP Artist Development. "The MUSICBLITZ Web site offers those bands a way to have their music released, while still going completely unnoticed by the major and independent record labels."
