NEW IN VIBE: "BELLS"
AND WHISTLES

Pentatonix, Emile Sandé Join Our Survey of Acts Bound to Break
Two unique acts--and quite a few more voices--join the Vibe Raters stable this week.

Entering at #5, red-hot a cappella kids Pentatonix are decking the halls bigtime. This is thanks to their holiday EP PTXmas (the Madison Gate set is the follow-up to their successful debut release) and single "Carol of the Bells." You may know the vocal ensemble as winners of The Sing Off's third season; you should now also think of them as #1 on the iTunes holiday album chart.

They've enjoyed more than 1 million video views in a mere two weeks, and their sold-out tour dates are ongoing (with 2013 dates just now going on sale). The fresh-faced fivesome have enjoyed big support from 94.7 L.A. and will play the station's Xmas show at Nokia on 12/16.

You'll also be seeing a lot of them in the coming weeks if you own a TV, thanks to a 12/14 Leno appearance and a 12/18 spot on The Talk; their red-carpet AMAs perf was streamed live on YouTube, LiveStream and ABC.com, and they brought some tinsel to Verizon's Black Friday ad.

You may recall reading a profile of Capitol's U.K. phenom Emeli Sandé (#16) on this very site (in which case your memory is better than ours). Well, the Scottish-bred siren-songwriter's "Next to Me" (from the top-selling Brit album Our Version of Events) is spinning at Sirius-XM Hits 1, KCDA, WCLZ, WYLD and more. Already beloved by the likes of Adele, Simon Cowell, Alicia Keys, Beyoncé and other movers and shakers, she'll be knocking out U.S. audiences on a Stateside headlining tour Jan. 12-Feb. 7.

Appearances on The Today Show (1/29) and Letterman (1/31) should help cement her "Next" big thing status. The track has already enjoyed more than 22 million VEVO views.

Events is already Triple Platinum in the U.K., earning Sandé three Mobos, a Q Award and the Brit Critics' Choice Award not to mention two Soul Train noms and a BET Awards nod. Oh, another thing she has that we never will? A degree in neuroscience.

Look for scads of press on this stunningly versatile artist in the next few months. It looks like she may not have to fall back on that medical degree after all.
