NO ORDINARY JOE

RCA’s Riccitelli Gets Snazzy New Title, Expanded Responsibilities
There’s nothing Jive about this promotion.

Longtime promo god Joe Riccitelli has been named EVP/GM at RCA from his previous post as EVP Promotion for the label. In his new job, Riccitelli will continue to spearhead all aspects of Pop promotion for the label and will now also oversee the music licensing and brand partnership departments, which will continue to be run by Karen Lamberton. He’ll continue to report to label President/COO Tom Corson.

Said Corson, “Joe has done such a tremendous job leading the way to success for many of our superstar and developing artists. Now is the time to widen Joe’s portfolio and contribute his leadership to our licensing and brand partnership efforts on behalf of our unparalleled artist roster.”

To which Riccitelli added, “Yeah, what he said.”

Here’s what Joe actually said, according to this morning’s press release: “Peter Edge and Tom Corson have done an amazing job of leading the premier team industrywide. We all share a common goal of being the top label in the business. The winning spirit of the company can be felt by everyone. I am truly excited to be a part of the bright future of this legendary label.”

Riccitelli began his career at PolyGram in 1985, holding the position of SVP Promotion for Island from 1995-99, working with U2, Melissa Etheridge and The Cranberries. He joined Jive in 1999 as SVP Promotion, where he oversaw radio and video promotion for Britney Spears, P!nk, Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown and Usher, among others. Last year, Riccitelli was named EVP Promotion for the relaunched RCA, where he has led his team to secure hit records for P!nk, Kelly Clarkson, Alicia Keys and Ke$ha and continues to champion the label’s up-and-coming artists, Miguel and Walk the Moon.
