iGen TOP SELLING SINGLES
4/16/15

The following chart represents the top-selling singles on the Mediabase Alternative Radio Chart. Some observations:

  • Walk The Moon's "Shut Up And Dance" is a monster. The track which was #1 at Alt, is currently #6 at Hot AC, #15 at Top 40 and growing.
  • Mumford & Sons are giving programmers good reason to play two tracks. It’s extremely rare to have two songs happening at once nowadays. Mumford also benefits from Hot AC and AAA airplay on "Believe."
  • If you’re looking for a rock record to play, consider Breaking Benjamin.
  • It seems likely that when the Alabama Shakes album arrives, sales will be big.
  • In The Valley Below's "Peaches" sticks out here—this is a new band that’s only getting played at Alternative. That’s impressive.
  • It’s nice to see Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness have an impact. Patience was rewarded here, as the song is still charted after 27 weeks.
