Congrats are in order for Inca and Lori G, who co-spearheaded their very first #1 record as Team RCA. G-Eazy “Me, Myself and I” has powered its way to the top in large part to a 680-spin increase. This record is proving to be a multi-format smash with sales to boot. They also have Chris Brown’s “Back to Sleep” moving #14-12. Look for a new remix of that one, featuring Usher and ZAYN. Kid Ink’s “Promise” slides into the Top 15, gaining a healthy 335 spins. ZAYN’s “PILLOWTALK” is up 380 spins, and climbs #37-30, and Bryson Tiller’s “Exchange” debuts at #40 with an increase of 140 spins. They impact A$AP Ferg’s “New Level” this week.
Def Jam’s Rick Sackheim, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness are riding the Rihanna train all the way inside the Top 5. “Work” (Westbury Road/Roc Nation), featuring Drake, has been on the chart for just four weeks, and is already at #4. It was up 885 spins this week, and is looking a hell of a lot like the next #1 record. Justin Bieber’s “Love Yourself” (RBMG) is at #3, up 355 spins. Jeremih’s “Oui” continues to impress, as it moves #16-13, gaining 275 spins. The Top 10 is the next stop for this multi-format hit. DJ Mustard’s “Whole Lotta Lovin” moves to #36, up 140 spins this week, and Alessia Cara’s “Wild Things” inches closer to debuting, coming in at #44.
Columbia’s Ayelet Schiffman and James White take The Chainsmokers f/Rozes’ “Roses” into the Top 10, as it leaps #12-9, and sees an increase of 120 spins. Beyoncé’s “Formation” continues to roll up the chart, landing at #20 with a 750-spin increase; not too shabby. The Internet’s “Girl” (Odd Future) continues to sell and react in airplay markets. That one moves to #31 this week, and is up 175 spins. The buzz is very healthy, and new stations keep coming in each week. Adele’s “When We Were Young” (XL) moves #47-43 this week. Her recent performance on Ellen has given this track an even bigger buzz. Look for J. Cole’s “Love Yourz” (Roc Nation) to debut in the coming weeks. It comes in at #47 this week, up 170 spins.
Republic’s Gary Spangler, Davey Dee and Stef Cole have Belly f/The Weeknd’s “Might Not” on a collision course with the Top 10. It leaps #19-16 this week, posting higher than a 455-spin increase. Mike Posner’s “I Took a Pill in Ibiza” (Island) is an official member of the Top 25, as the track, which is also doing very well at Top 40, gains 220 spins. The same team also scored three debuts this week. Zendaya f/Chris Brown’s “Something New” is this week’s highest debut, coming in at #26. It was up 590 spins, and is also rolling at Top 40. This one looks to have a bright future ahead of it. Meanwhile, Drake’s “Summer Sixteen” (YMCMB) debuts this week at #33, up 315 spins, with new believers hopping on board each week. And The Weeknd’s “Acquainted” debuts at #39, after an impressive 280 spin increase. Post Malone’s “Too Young” is at #46, and DNCE “Cake by the Ocean” comes in at #57.
Capitol’s Dixie Tipton has OG Maco & TWRK’s “Do What It Do” at #67, grabbing 50 new spins. The single is starting to heat up the mix shows and is really worth a look.
