Republic and RCA Reign at Rhythm

This week’s Top 5 is brought to you compliments of Republic and RCA records. In fact, these two labels have really dominated the top section of the chart in Q1.

Gary Spangler and Davey Dee have Nicki Minaj f/Drake & Lil Wayne’s “Truffle Butter” in the #1 spot again. They also have Natalie La Rose f/Jeremih’s “Somebody” at #4, up 670 spins. Meanwhile, The Weeknd’s “Earned It” moves to #7, with an increase of over 500 spins as well. Ariana Grande’s “One Last Time” climbs to #18, gaining 240 spins, and Kalin & Myles’ “Trampoline” works its way into the Top 20. Taylor Swift’s “Style” (Big Machine) is at #28, and Nick Jonas’ “Chains” (Island) debuts at #29 this week, up over 300 spins.

Meanwhile, John Strazza, Inca and Lori G have Chris Brown & Tyga’s “Ayo” at #3, gaining 550 spins. Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Hotel” is up over 200 spins, and Tinashe f/Iggy Azalea’s “All Hands on Deck” is the biggest debuting record this week; it hit #27, tacking on 375 spins. Be on the lookout for a new Usher track, as well as a new one from Mark Ronson in the near future.

Ayelet Schiffman and James White at Columbia drop Snoop Dogg f/Charlie Wilson’s brand-new “Peaches and Cream.” In just five days, it was up 350 spins. There’s a nice buzz on this, and it’ll surely chart this coming week. Calvin Harris f/Big Sean’s “Open Wide” is at #24, and his other track, “Outside,” which features Ellie Goulding, is sitting at #37. TK & Cash’s “Mind Right” just missed charting this week, but is starting to gain momentum. LunchMoney Lewis’ “Bills” continues to get nighttime play, and is on the chart at Pop.

At Def Jam, Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness continue to build Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s “FourFiveSeconds” (Roc Nation), which moves to #6 this week, adding 355 spins. Big Sean f/Drake & Kanye West’s “Blessings” leaps into the Top 15, while grabbing an additional 275 spins, and Ludacris f/Miguel’s “Good Lovin” continues its winning ways, up 175 spins and now at #19. Kanye West f/T. London’s “All Day” is already inside the Top 25, after tacking on another 540 additional spins.

Lee L’Heureux and the Warner Bros. staff dropped Jason Derulo’s “Want to Want Me” last week. It debuts at #35, gaining 700 spins and did the same thing at Pop by debuting after just one week.

Sujit Kundu and Epic are busy, as they have Ciara’s “I Bet” at #31. Her video earned 6m+ views in just a week. Casey Veggies’ “Backflip” is at #40 this week, and Fifth Harmony f/Kid Ink’s “Worth It” is just outside the chart, but should debut this coming week. Jidenna’s “Classic Man” continues to grow and take on new believers each week, while Future’s “Commas” is really starting to heat up in the clubs and at mix show. They impact Snoh Allegra’s “Emotional” this week.
