CROSSOVER
It’s another week and another dogfight for the #1 spot. Columbia’s DJ Snake & Lil Jon are making a valiant effort to secure the top position with “Turn Down for What” before Def Jam’s Iggy Azalea nabs it with “Fancy.” They are neck-and-neck at this point on the real-time chart, with DJ Snake about 100x ahead. This would be Columbia’s 4th #1 record so far this year, and it is not even June yet. Ayelet Schiffman and James White are enjoying a great 2014, and have Calvin Harris’ “Summer” at #22 with an increase of 185 spins. They also impact Pharrell Williams’ “Come Get It Bae” this week, and it’s poised to be in the Most Added column. Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” is still developing… Def Jam, as mentioned before, is vying for #1 this coming week or next with Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”. It’s #2 on the building chart as I write this. Rick Sackhiem, Noah Sheer and Scott Maness also have Jhene Aiko’s “The Worst” at #8, and YG f/Drake’s “Who Do You Love” leaping #14-11, up over 300 spins. In addition, they have August Alsina’s “Numb” at #27 and Rick Ross’ “Thug Cry” at #35… Gary Spangler and Davey Dee at Republic are racing Ariana Grande f/Iggy Azalea’s “Problem” up the chart, taking it #19-14 this week and gaining 630 spins. They also have Adrian Marcel’s “2AM” at #23, and have the biggest debut of the week with Lil Wayne f/Drake’s “Believe Me,” which storms onto the chart at #28, up over 600 spins. SoMo’s “Show Off” is at #34, and Sage the Gemini’s “College Drop” debuts at #38… Epic is making the most of their releases, as they have Future’s “Move That Doh” at #18 this week. They also have Kat Dahlia’s “Crazy” inside the Top 25. TeeFlii’s “24 Hours” is racing up the chart, looking to debut this coming week. They’re impacting Snootie Wild’s “Ayo” this week; it’s already Top 50… Lee L’Heureux at Warner Bros. continues to build Jason Derulo f/Snoop Dogg’s “Wiggle.” It leaps #25-19 this week, up over 440 spins. The track’s iTunes sales are huge, and this is looking to follow in the footsteps of his last hit. Lee also has Nico & Vinz’s “Am I Wrong” at #45 and looking to debut this week. The pop story’s huge—it’s already inside the Top 20… RCA just continues to motor along, with seven records on the chart this week. Justin Timberlake’s “Not a Bad Thing” moves inside the Top 10 to #9, up 250 spins. They’re looking to get it in the Top 5 in the next two weeks. John Strazza, Inca and Lori G also have Tinashe f/ScHoolboy Q’s “2 On” at #15, Kid Ink f/Chris Brown’s “Main Chick” at #16, Usher’s “Good Kisser” leaping #33-21 and up nearly 600 spins and Pitbull f/GRL’s “Wild Wild Love” at #30. They debut Magic!’s “Rude” at #36, as well. As if that was not enough, they’re impacting Becky G’s “Shower” this week… Nick P and Glassnote continue to build Childish Gambino’s “3005,” which moves #21-17 and gains another 210 spins. The story’s developing, the research is growing and the goal is Top 10 in three weeks.
