GRAMMYS ON THE HILL TO HONOR CROW

The Recording Academy will host its annual Grammys on the Hill Awards 4/30 at Hamilton Live in Washington, D.C.

Sponsored by City National Bank and benefiting the Grammy Museum, this year's awards will honor nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) for their support of music creators.

"Protecting the rights of creators lies at the core of the Recording Academy's mission," said Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. "Grammys on the Hill is an opportunity to celebrate the artists and our nation's leaders who champion this cause and to acknowledge music's unifying power. We're grateful to Sheryl and Sens. Cornyn and Klobuchar for their tireless efforts in safeguarding the music community and are thrilled to be recognizing them later this month in our nation's capital."

Crow’s commitment to protecting creator rights includes her co-founding of the Recording Artists' Coalition alongside previous Grammy on the Hill honoree Don Henley. She’s also been vocal about the threat AI presents to music creators, as heard on her new song "Evolution.”

“Receiving this award from the Recording Academy is a tremendous honor for me because protecting the rights of creators is more important now than ever before," said Crow. "Music nourishes our humanity, and I am proud to be recognized as an advocate for the protection of the people who make it.”

Meanwhile, Sens. Cornyn and Klobuchar have advanced key policies in support of music people. The pair was pivotal to the pandemic-era Save Our Stages Act, which provided $16 billion in federal assistance to shuttered venues and represents the largest federal investment in the arts in U.S. history. They continue to work on reforms like the Fans First Act, which would improve the live-event ticket marketplace.

The Recording Academy will host the annual Grammys on the Hill Advocacy Day 5/1, bringing current and past Grammy winners and nominees and industry leaders to meet with lawmakers to discuss issues facing today's music creators.

And for the first time, Grammys on the Hill will expand with a Future Forum on 5/3, held in partnership with the Human Artistry Campaign, to explore the impact of AI on the music community.
