THIS CHART FEELS THE SUMMER HEAT

Following a tight race to the top, Capitol’s 5 Seconds of Summer celebrates a #1 bow on the Top 50 Chart with Youngblood, which moved around 140k. The Carters enter at #2 with nearly 125k for Everything Is Love (Roc Nation/Parkwood/Columbia). Remember: Not only did Jay and Bey release on a Saturday, but their Tidal exclusive lasted throughout their opening weekend. And once on Spotify, the set was premium-only.

As for the other noteworthy new releases, NasirNas’ 11th studio album, and his first in six years—rounds out the Top 5, scoring 79k via Mass Appeal/Def Jam. Christina Aguilera’s Liberation (RCA) enters at #6 with 69k. Jay Rock’s Redemption (TDE/Interscope), meanwhile, comes in at #15 with 31k.

Following the untimely death of XXXTentacion, his most recent release—simply titled ? (Bad Vibes Forever)—soared #24-3, taking on more than 85k. There’s also the project’s predecessor (and the artist’s 2017 debut), 17 (Bad Vibes Forever/Empire), which re-entered at #7 with upwards of 48k.

The next-biggest chart move was made by Broken Bow/BMG’s Jason Aldean, whose Rearview Town—powered by ticket redemptions—tacked on 40k to go #23-10.

When it comes to marketshare, UMG is #1 with 65%, WMG follows with 15% and SME is #3 with 13%, while the indies claim 7%.

Streeting this week are albums from Crush’s Panic! At the Disco, Warner Bros./Warner Music Nashville’s Dan + Shay, G.O.O.D./Def Jam’s Teyana Taylor, The Null Corporation/Capitol’s Nine Inch Nails and Warner Bros.’ Bebe Rexha.
