U.K. MIDWEEKS: A MANIC MONDAY

Manic Street Preachers are currently sitting at #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums midweek chart with their 13th studio release, Resistance is Futile (Columbia), while The Damned enter at #5 with their first album in 10 years, Evil Spirits (Search & Destroy/Spinefarm). Will Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa nab the top singles spot?

The Manics have only ever hit #1 once in their career, with This is my Truth Tell me Yours in ’98. Resistance is Futile is currently 4k combined sales ahead of nearest rival, The Greatest Showman soundtrack (Atlantic).

Elsewhere on albums, Kylie Minogue has dropped to #3 with Golden (BMG) while George Ezra is down to #4 with Staying at Tamara’s (Columbia). Dua Lipa is up three places to #8 with her self-titled debut as the accompanying tour kicks off in the U.K.

Over on the Official Singles midweeks, Harris and Lipa's “One Kiss” (Columbia/Warner Bros.) has risen two places and is challenging Drake for the #1 spot. It’s currently 3.3k combined sales ahead of “Nice for What” (Island).

Climbers include “Lullaby” (Ministry of Sound) by Sigala & Paloma Faith rising three spots to #6 while Bebe Rexha is on the cusp of her first Top 10 as a lead artist with “Meant to Be” (Parlophone) f/Florida Georgia Line at #10.

Zayn looks set to claim this week’s highest new entry with “Let Me” (RCA) at #17, followed by Nicki Minaj with “Chun-Li” (Island) and “Barbie Tingz” at #21 and #22 respectively.
