WILL CAMILA BATTLE BARNUM FOR #1? (UPDATE)

At the moment, it looks like a battle is brewing at the top of our next chart, as SYCO/Epic's Camila Cabello will try to unseat The Greatest Showman’s ST from atop the HITS Top 50, where it's spent the last two weeks. Cabello is now projecting to 85-95k in total activity and 48-53k in album sales. The P.T. Barnum-inspired musical Showman (Atlantic) saw only a modest drop last week after "This Is Me" won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song.

If the soundtrack maintains its momentum and registers a similar, single-digit drop next week, it could be looking at a third week at #1. However, a 20% or greater decline should clear the way for Cabello to take the lead.

Showman and Camila remain the #1 and #2 albums at iTunes, where the latter's "Havana" is the #2 track, and her new single, "Never Be the Same," is Top 15. And however she fares in her first week, Cabello appears due for a long run, as multiple tracks continue to stream and sell. With response to the album overwhelmingly positive, "Havana" has unseated Post Malone's "rockstar" from the #1 spot globally at Spotify. With the exception of 12/23-25, when Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You" was the vintage star atop the streamery's tree, "rockstar" has been Spotify's most-played song on the planet since 9/17, a total of 116 days. Since Friday, all 11 tracks from Cabello's album have been in the Global Spotify Top 200.

Stay tuned for updates.
