U.K. CHARTS: GREATEST SHOWMAN SOARS TO #1

The Greatest Showman (Atlantic) becomes the first soundtrack to hit #1 on the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart since La La Land (Polydor) did so in February 2017. Meanwhile, Ed Sheeran remains at the top of singles with “Perfect,” where “Barking” (Polydor) by new rapper Ramz has climbed into the Top 5 at #4.

There are no new entries in the albums Top 40 this week with labels still kicking back into gear after the Christmas break. Camila Cabello, though, is atop the iTunes chart today with her solo debut, Camila (Syco). Will Cabello better the highest position her former group, Fifth Harmony, hit—#6 with 7/27 in 2016?

The Top 5 this week has Ed Sheeran down to #2 with ÷ , followed by Sam Smith at #3 with The Thrill of it All (Capitol), Rag’n’Bone Man at #4 with Human (Columbia) and Eminem’s Revival (Interscope) at #5.

The Greatest Showman has three tracks on the week’s Official Singles Chart: The Golden Globe-winning “This Is Me” at #16, “The Greatest Show” at #23 and Zac Efron and Zendaya duet “Rewrite The Stars” at #26.

Elsewhere on the Official Singles Chart, Sheeran’s “Perfect” is still #1 ahead of Eminem’s “River” (Interscope). Rita Ora’s “Anywhere” (Atlantic) is up one place to #3, followed by "Barking" at #4 and “I Miss You” (Atlantic/Polydor) by Clean Bandit f/Julia Michaels at #5.

Bruno Mars’ remix of “Finesse” f/Cardi B (Atlantic) becomes his 11th U.K. Top 10 single and first in over a year at #7. Despite a midweek peak of #4, Liam Payne and Rita Ora’s “For You” (Capitol), recorded for the soundtrack of Fifty Shades Freed, debuts at #11.
