IT'S ONLY A GLITCH

Word from programming insiders is that the automated radio scheduling software systems used by big radio chains have stalled the momentum of certain major releases, particularly ones with ubiquitous featured artists Justin Bieber and Quavo. This happens, they say, because their algorithms are designed to prevent the clustering of songs by a single artist and provide artist separation on station playlists.

The software systems are said to have reduced spins on David Guetta's "2U" f/Bieber due to the constant play on top-charting hits "Despacito" and DJ Khaled's "I'm the One," and this even as the Guetta song was researching well. Programmers are believed to be hand scheduling to fix the issue.
