HIS PLATT IS FULL, AND HIS CUP
RUNNETH OVER

Warner/Chappell is on a bit of a run of late. Fresh off being named BMI Pop Publisher, the House of Jon Platt took 18 trophies at the 5/18 ASCAP Pop Awards. The company is the only major pubco to have upped its marketshare last year, and still seems to be gaining velocity.

Justin Tranter, who was, along with Ross Golan, named a BMI Songwriter of the Year, now has six singles at Pop radio, a personal best. They are Selena Gomez's brand new "Bad Liar," Imagine Dragons' "Believer," Linkin Park f/Kiiara, "Heavy", Julia Michaels' "Issues," "Cold" by Maroon 5 and DNCE f/Nicki Minaj's "Kissing Strangers."

W/C also had a fab evening at the recent Ivor Novello Awards, with Skepta taking Songwriter of the Year, Michael Kiwanuka winning Best Song Lyrically & Musically and Dario Marianelli winning Best Original Film Score.

The pubbery has #1 spots on 10 radio charts, spanning most genres you can name, and nine of the Top 10 Mediabase Urban songs.

"Our recent success is humbling," reads a note from Platt to his team. "We are incredibly fortunate to represent some of the world's most talented songwriters, and we will continue to put them first in everything we do and every decision we make. We couldn't provide our songwriters the support we do without the best team in music publishing.”
