A GATHERING OF MR. NICE GUYS

Music Biz President James Donio, left, welcomed the original lineup of Alice Cooper (drummer Neal Smith, guitarist Michael Bruce and bassist Dennis Dunaway, Cooper) at the convention’s Industry Jam on Monday in Nashville where Music Biz Vice Chairman Steve Harkins, right, presented the band with an Outstanding Achievement Award. Donio then threw a chicken into the crowd.

Performing at the event were Alice Cooper; Carl Palmer in a tribute to his late band mates, Keith Emerson and Greg Lake; the family of Glen Campbell; a Felix Cavaliere-led celebration of the Summer of Love’s 50th anniversary; and the Nashville Symphony Quartet with The Fisk Jubilee Singers. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Music Biz Scholarship Foundation.
