The Top 10 on iTunes songs chart has three new arrivals with Shawn Mendes’ single “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” from the deluxe edition of Illuminate (Island) shooting straight to #1. On the album side, seven new titles hit the Top 10 on flipover Friday.
Following the Mendes track, the remix of Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” f/Justin Bieber (RBMG/Def Jam), released Monday, is #3 at iTunes and #18 on Apple Music, while Lana Del Rey f/The Weeknd’s “Lust For Life” (Interscope), released Wednesday, is #5.
On the album side, the fourth album from songwriter-producer Blackbear, digital druglord (Beartrap), opens at #2 and is also the highest charting newcomer at Apple Music, currently #27. Incubus’ 8—their first for Island—drives in at #3.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix, Vol. 2 (Marvel/Disney), featuring ‘70s tracks from the likes of ELO, George Harrison and the Jon Batdorf-Brent Mydland-Tom Leadon band Silver, press play at #4.
Love and War (Arista Nashville), Brad Paisley’s 11th album packed with interesting guests—Mick Jagger, John Fogerty, Timbaland—has the #5 berth followed by Taylor Ray Holbrook’s self-released Backroads.
Kim Walker-Smith’s On My Side (Jesus Culture/Sparrow) is #8 and Sheryl Crow’s return to the pop side, Be Myself (Warner Bros.), is #9.
